Before I Die...

Recently I was visiting our Knoxville Keller Williams offices. While I went downtown for dinner, I noticed the above wall painted with chaulk paint with simply, “Before I Die…” written on it. At first it seems so dramatic and not uplifting, yet the meaning behind the wall is everything but that!

I feel truly blessed to work in an environment and for a company that understands meaning deeper than a production number or a plaque on a wall. Keller Williams Realty’s mission statement speaks specifically to whatever anyone would choose to write on this wall.

Keller Williams Realty mission statement; To Build Careers worth Having, Businesses worth Owning, Lives worth Living, Experiences worth Giving and Legacies worth Leaving.

While we believe in building great real estate careers and businesses worth owning, we also believe in helping people live their life worth living. I.e. Whatever they would write on the “Before I Die…” wall.

I recently was reminded of the Top 5 Regrets of the Dying, and I feel grateful that the company and environment of Keller Williams Realty empowers people to live with no regrets!

I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

Quantum Leap speaks specifically to this! What is even more empowering is the Quantum Leap for young adults addresses this very message!

I wish I hadn't worked so hard.

Lots of agents feel proud and excited about the awards and accolades they receive from all their hard work! This is not necessarily a bad thing unless your time becomes a scarce resource. We specifically teach people to build businesses so they can grow of course yet one of the benefits is time. If done right, time doesn't become the direct factor in success anymore.

I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.

This one to me is about keeping your Wheel of Life in priority. I believe in God, Family then Business.

I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

One of the wonderful opportunities of our company is the systematized approach to building and maintaining a database. Yes it is designed for business however if done correctly, you do stay in touch with your friends!

I wish that I had let myself be happier.

Happiness can be directly tied to living your life by design, following your dreams, and moving towards your motivations. Dianna Kokoszka has a BOLD Law, “Life by Design, Not by Default.”
