Standing on the Shoulders of Giants

Standing on the Shoulders of Giants

"If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants." - Sir Isaac Newton

Here we arrive to recognize the success and hard work of your previous year, and I reflect on the meaning of an award ceremony. Much like a marriage or a funeral causes us to look internally at our own lives, I believe an award ceremony will do the same. Yes, we can sit here and be proud and receive our awards as we should. Yes, we can sit here and congratulate the hard work of our peers as we should. Absolutely we should! What a great start to 2017!

As I reflect around the incredible year we have just finished, a thought came to mind. Is today not about possibilities as much as it is about success? Is today not about un-limiting beliefs as much as it is about achievement? For every Rock Star we recognize today, there are ten future Rock Stars with their eyes on you.

Dear Future Rock Stars ~ John Maxwell says it best, "To put significance in our stories, we must also take action. Being passive may feel safe. If you do nothing, nothing can go wrong. But while inaction cannot fail, it cannot succeed either. We can wait, and hope, and wish, but if we do, we miss the stories our lives could be."

Ask yourself this question; Who are the Giant's shoulders I'm standing on giving me unlimited horizons that see far beyond the world I live in?

In the book, Intentional Living: Choosing a Life That Matters, John C. Maxwell points out, "One of the greatest ironies of life is that you give up your life, you gain it. If you help others, you benefit. If you lose yourself, you find yourself."

Today help me congratulate:

The Limiting Beliefs Overcome.

The Discipline Pursued.

The Commitment to Success.

The Perseverance to never Give Up.
